Woon is one of the toughest competitors on the London Chessboxing scene- a dedicated trainer with fitness to burn he has turned in two stellar performances both of which he lost narrowly by checkmate. His debut bout against Canada's Sean Mooney at the Royal Albert Hall in 2012 proved to be one of the most exciting ever seen by chessboxing crowds worldwide and his second bout against Germany's Tim Bendfeldt was another cracker.
He says: "I'm hooked [on chessboxing] because it pushes me to mental and physical exhaustion. The closer your body feels to shutting down and giving up from fatigue and pain, you realise the more alive you are." |
