Great success in the Chess-boxing evening (a combination of chess and boxing in the same competition) by the boxer from the León Gym, Jonatan RodrÃguez , led by Master Alfredo Arrojo .
This new type of competition is held over 11 rounds, and consists of playing 4 minutes of chess and 2 minutes of boxing consecutively. This event is part of the Festival of the Arts of Castilla y León and has a great international projection, although in Spain it is the first time that it is celebrated.
In this case, Jonatan won by checkmate in the 5th round against his rival, David Estrada from Asturias, after dominating in all rounds, both in chess and boxing.
The large audience that packed the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca, enjoyed a novel show in Spain, which combines 4 minutes of chess with 3 minutes of boxing consecutively, up to 11 rounds in total, proclaiming the winner the athlete who reaches the highest score, if not there has been a KO or Checkmate before. |
