CBX - CBX 1 - Czech Republic vs France

11 April 2026 - KaSS, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Czechia

CBX 1 brought the first full chessboxing gala to the Czech Republic. The home team faced the experienced French scene in Kralupy and presented the sport in its complete format — at the chessboard and in the ring.

The French team was led by captain and co-organiser Valentin Marcel, a prominent figure in international chessboxing. The event presentation highlighted the high chess level of the line-up and stated that its average Elo rating was higher than at the World Championship. It also highlighted František Hánl among the Czech competitors, while the fight card included two professional fighters.

The main event paired David Hampl, a silver and bronze World Championship medallist, with three-time world champion Jules-Aloïs Julien.

Two boxing bouts featuring local fighters from Pitbull Gym Kralupy completed the published fight card. The organiser announced a sell-out before doors opened, with no tickets available at the venue. The evening was filmed, and videos are available on the Chessboxing Czechia YouTube channel.
