Michal Adamski and Stephan Kring contested the first fight that evening in front of around 500 spectators. The latter is a 50-year-old teacher from Sweden who has managed to make chess boxing so popular in his country that it is even reported on television. His opponent came from Poland. It started with chess and here both chess boxers showed a passable playing structure. In the boxing rounds, the greater range of Adamski was clearly noticeable. Kring couldn't compensate for that on the board and he lost in the sixth round - the third boxing round - by a technical knockout. |
